FlexBoard does not collect, sell, or share your data with third parties. Your boards are stored locally on your device and — if you have iCloud enabled — synced privately through Apple’s iCloud. No FlexBoard servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising.
Data Storage
Board & tile data → stored locally via Core Data; synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit when iCloud is enabled
File contents → attached files are synced as encrypted assets through iCloud (CKAsset) when iCloud is enabled — never sent to FlexBoard
Backups (every 15 min) → board_backup.json — local only, never synced
Settings → stored in macOS UserDefaults on-device; not synced across devices
iCloud Sync
FlexBoard for macOS and FlexBoard for iPhone share the same iCloud container. When iCloud is enabled, boards and file contents sync automatically between your devices. All data resides in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. FlexBoard has no access to your iCloud storage.
To disable iCloud sync: System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → FlexBoard (toggle off).
Third Parties
Apple iCloud / CloudKit: Used for optional cross-device sync. Data stays in your iCloud account.
In-App Purchases: Handled by Apple StoreKit. FlexBoard never sees payment details.
Permissions
iCloud: Used to sync boards and files across your devices when enabled.
Network: Required for iCloud sync and StoreKit.
Files: Only files you explicitly select via the system file picker.
